  About Norman Rossiter

Norman Rossiter was born in 1950, in Torquay South Devon. Spending most of his childhood, collecting, watching, and drawing the local flora, and fauna he exhibited his first painting/drawing at the age of twelve.

After finishing college, Norman moved to the East Midland region of the U.K. where he worked for many years in the P.O.P. Display/Advertising Industry. During this time he continued his interest in the countryside, and developing his art. In 1986 he left the Display industry, and became a freelance designer and illustrator, whilst working even harder on his skills as an artist.

In 1990 Norman decided to dedicate all his efforts to painting, and to the subjects he loves most wildlife, field sports, and the countryside. He spent a year working for the Zoo Interpretation Project as a designer and illustrator at Twycross Zoo

Red Kite, one of Norman Rossiter's many famous works

Norman's work has been exhibited throughout the UK and overseas. His paintings of British wildlife, especially Game Birds and Wildfowl are in many private collections, as most of Norman's work is by way of commission.

As well as four very successful one-man exhibitions (two of which were complete sell outs), his work has been shown and sold in London, Kenya, and Australia, and selected for the final of the “Not The Turner Prize” in 2003. Norman works from Spalding, Lincolnshire, UK and can be seen at exhibitions throughout the UK in the coming year.
